Default Local call to India

This is really awesome.. I am calling my parents.. no charge for 24/7

I am sure all of us have high speed internet(comcast, earthlink etc) in US. Find below the process.

Step 1
My friend applied for IP phone through vonage.. It;s $24.99 per month. unlimited long distance call inside US. They provide you with a vonage box... for ex (212 795 4994)
Step 2
Get another IP phone through vonage. Take $14.99 per month... 400 minutes long distance and local/regional is always free. (for ex 212 488 8848)
Step 3
BSNL has introduced broadband connection all over india. which is Rs.500 per month.
Now take the second vonage box to India(parents) and connect it to your broadband.

Now your parents can call all over US for free.. You can also call them.. it's like calling a US number....

I have applied for vonage...

YOUR THOUGHTS PLEASE!!!

Default call to india

hi kiran,

i just cme to US couple of months back.
the process you are telling is quite interesting(vonage).
but my doubt is if we send this ip phone ($14.99) to india, how did it work?
do vonage ppl know whether we are connected the second ip phone in india or US?
suppose, if we connected in india, will it work? r ur parents are using or planning to use in india?
please can you let me know the detail procedure asap.
thanks for your information.
Ram

Vonage IP phone should have broadband connection. You can connect to any broadband in the world, still you get US number. Vonage is not bothered whether you connect here or in India.

I have a vonage connection and i have applied for the second one. I am from interior part of South India. Though we have broadband connection from BSNL, heard from parents, it's bit slow when compared to Cities like chennai, bangalore, mumbai etc.

My friend is using the connection in India. He owns a small company in Chennai and he uses Vonage for con. calls with Offshore facility.

The above co. also provides IP phone. This is cheaper than vonage. Have a look into it.

Default Really low rates to India

For really low rates to India try www.connect2phonecard.com. The quality is good and the price is really low. Try it! I've been using their service for some time now and I am happy with it.
