Default Visitor Visa Extension

Hi Murali / All,

My parents' visitor visa that was issued in Chennai expires on 14 March 2004. Their I-94 expired on 03 Jan 2004, but we had applied for extension of their stay in Dec 2003. In the form, we requested for extension of stay till 12 March 2004. We received a letter from INS stating it will take 150 - 180 days for them to make a decision regarding the extension.

If we do not hear from the INS before 12 March 2004 regarding their extension, can my parents continue to stay beyond 12 or 14 March 2004?

Regardless, if they leave the US on 12 March 2004, how soon can they apply for another visit visa at the consulate in India? What are their chances of getting another visa?

Your comments/advice is greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

First of al there is no gurantee of extension approval.
Also in case of refual of ext. its a generally a negetive point against their visa approval.
There is no time limit for next visa apply.
