Fingerprinting for visitors

Hi,
I had question about customs checking at USA airport. Can anyone tell their latest experience of traveling from India on visitor's visa? What happens after your papers and passports get checked by the officer? Apart from fingerprinting what else they ask you? My parents are coming for first time and do not know English. I wanted to give them tips beforehand.
