Hi,
I am planning to bring my parents to USA. My mother is diabetic. I see that any ailment, which the physician says is due to diabetes would be not be covered by any insurance. However, if I there is an Emergency, and the doctor at the ER says its due to diabetes, would the insurance refuse to pay the expenses, for emergencies as well ? Regards, Ramani |

OK...you are basically facing a common problem. But to be honest with you be careful about this. Because travel insurance does not cover pre-existing conditions or anything arising from a pre-existing conditon. Anything that happens in the future after you buy insurance will be covered but the ailment you are mentioning will not be covered as you will be continually taking medication to keep it in control. Also, the determination of whether it is a pre-existing condition or not is dependant on the attending phycian or doctor's decision.
Thanks. |
