visa for usmle csa exam-gaurav

hello,i am a doctor from hyderabad.i ahve just passed usmle step2 secured96(238) and cleared step1 91(225).
i plan to appear for usmle csa exam which is held in usa only.
i want to know under what visa category do i have to apply.
what are the chances of getting a visa if i state my purpose of visit as to appear for csa exam.
if i get visa and pass csa naturally i would be applying for residency in usa and come back after that.
so if they ask me can i tell them that?
i have worked only on and off since i grad (mbbs) since i wa sprep for these exams.if they ask me about income and income taxreturns what should i do.please reply.gaurav
