L1B Visa immediately after L2 VISA

Hello folks im travelling on L1B this month end. My wife working for a software company is trying to get L1B thru her company so that she can come to same state where i go. But the problem is she is not sure whether she will get L1B. Before i leave i would like to process her L2 and get her visa. If she doesnt get L1B thru her company then she can travel thru L2 and take leave in her company. But incase if her company asks her to get L1B done then she will get L1B but she wud have L2 by this time or there is chance that she is already having a date of interview with L2 and need to change as L1.

Kindly suggest how best we can handle this situation
