Default can i file jointly without ITIN number for my wife

I was in the U.S.A from Aug 1998 - Aug 2002.

I am in India now and I have received my W2 form.

I misplaced my wife's ITIN number. Now if i file jointly

do I have put the ITIN number of my wife where it

asks for SSN number in the 1040 form.

Is there anyway of finding on line ITIN number or

any numbers which I can call in the U.S.A. or India.

Thanks

VIJAY

You cant file joint unless you a valid SSN or TIN for both the person.
Contact IRS for the TIN number..visit the website for their number.

Call them they might hekp you with the TIN number

Note: not a legal advice.
