Default H1B Tax

Hi,

I have been working in USA during Sept - Dec (4 months) on H1B visa and have some tax questions:

My wife is here with me on a student visa and I pay for all her living costs / school fees. She doesnt work.

1) Do I file joint or seperate?

2) Do I claim her as a dependant?

3) So far I've earned about $12,500 (before tax) and paid $3000 in fed/state taxes (haven't been paying Social Security, but I just read somewhere that I'm supposed to...?)

4) Can I claim relocation costs from UK to USA as a deductable?

5) I was a student for most of 2003 in the UK where I have citizenship and have a student loan... does this effect my tax?

From this info, does it look like I would get my tax all refunded seen as I've only been here 4 months?

Sorry for all the questions, but hopefully someone can advise!

Thanks + Happy Holidays...

Mike

Default

the Tax work yearly Jan -Dec for a given year.
And if in a given year you income is less the min. limit that is I think is approximate 25000$, you should get all your tax you paid so far.
since you will be geting all your tax you have paid so far ..your other conerns like moving charges etc etc doesnt really matters.
