Default B2 Visa for Parents using L1 (being in India)

All:

I have couple of questions, if some one can advice it would be of great help,
  • My wife and myself hold valid L1 visa. We are planning to go to US together (or one after another) through our L1. Am planning to get visa for my parents (both of them are retd., govt., employees) and want to take them with me. How to get them B2 Visa? Should they be treated as tourist or i need to use my L1 and get them the Visa. I don't hold a valid US Bank account, is it really necessay to show 10K USD if i use my L1 or can i show the same amount in any of the Indian Banks? How much amount should be there in Indian account??
  • If they get the visa, is it advisable to go to-gether (all 4 of us)? PPl say that we might get Immegration Issue in US, is that true??

I think a better idea would be for your spouse and you to get to the US and settle in, find your way around etc etc., and then invite your parents over.

Otherwise, your parents can apply for a tourist visa, but independent of your "sponsorship" (since you've never been to the US, your sponsoring them wouldn't amount to much); have them apply showing their own bank balance, ties to home country, reasons for returning etc.

Thanks for the info, but the problem in my case is we have a 3 months old kid, am planning to take her L2 through my wifes L1. If we both go together taking my kid, during immigration there might be a question of who is going to take care of the kid? This is the reason, i planned to take my parents in my sponsor. During immigration will they accept if i say that we are planning to hire a baby sitter??

They dont ask the question who will take care of the kid, as the immigration officers very well knew if both parents are working kid will be in day care centers. In US, day care centers will take of the baby who are just a month old. Only problem is the day care center fee which guys have to pay.

Further if your parents go for B1 visa interview now itself before your arrival to US and if the consulate officer ask how long your son family is in US and then what they will answer. Then it will be a problem.

Therefore think twice before doing anything.
