Default Out of State Driving Ticket

Hello,

Here is the situation:

I live in Wisconsin and recently went to Las Vegas for vacation. I was travelling to Grand Canyon and was stopped by a cop. He told me that I was driving at 83 (I believe I was driving at 76). Anyways, I did not argue with him and he gave me a ticket for $195 which I need to pay. I have had clean driving record as of now.

I checked and found that Wisconsin does not enforce out of state tickets on its residents. Hence, I have following questions:

1. Do I have to pay this ticket?
2. If I do not pay it, will it cause problems while applying for Green Card or whenever I might need Police Clearance (State Vs Federal)?

Please advise.

Thanks
Mohan

I'd suggest paying it even if it's not enforceable in your state.
I think the 'advantage' to not having tickets given out of state enforced in your state (I use the word advantage for want of a better word...not to suggest any wrong doing on your part) is more for insurance/ points on your license point of view.
An unpaid speeding ticket anywhere in the US is bound to come up in a name search at your GC/ citizenship processing. Why take the risk?

Thanks for the great advice. I was wanting to pay this all along but wanted to see if there is a way to sneak out. I am just being human and wanted to save $195.00.

Appreciate your response

every state has their own rules and regulations. So what that means is that if you get a out of state ticket, this is not going to effect your record in WI.
