Hi all,
I purchased a LINKYSYS CISCO basic router ("LINKSYS WRT54G2 Wireless-G Broadband Router ") last april and now having problems with it for my Internet connection particularly whne connecting to VPN n/w of my company...Their tech support has been horrible and were not able to find the issue with the device... Can anyone suggest which is the best router(basic one) for home internet connection...Netgear etc?? |

All brand are pretty compatible Linksys, Dlink, NetGear .
Look for "N" router / Gigabit for better speed. In general Router has nothing to with your VPN access, as long as you can access internet and, have not done any specific blocking/setting on your router you should be able to use VPN like any other service. One of the reason for your VPN issues could be your computers firewall/Internet Security software setting, you may want to check that.

Hi,
Check the MTU settings and try different settings .I had similar issues with vpn disconnecting often which was resolved by changing the MTU settings. Hope this helps Sriram |
