Hi,
My fiance's passport is missing the lastname. So before taking the appointmt for her H4 visa, I suggested her to apply for a change of name in New Delhi passport office. Now the catch22 situation is she will get a new (changed) passport in 4-5 wks but by that time the appointment dates I will be getting might have reached April '06. Our marriage is scheduled during March 1st wk and I would like her to get her visa around March 14th.
Please suggest what can be done to avoid this scenario. Can I tk an appointment date now (for March'06) with the old passport number and then use the new passport at the time of interview. Please confirm if this can be done and also let me know how this can be done.
