Hi -

I am working for a U.S. company which is primarily in I.T. consulting .
So i am working as a consultant for the clients at their location most of the times.
I am going to India next month and need to get my Visa stamped(had an H1 extension and transfer sometime back )
Do i need to take any Client Letter in addition to all the docs provided by my employer for stamping?

Any suggestions in this regard would be really helpful ....

Thanks

For some who is already working in US , the copy of client letter is not required, howeevr looking at the trend in past few months specially in chennai consulate there is no harm in carrying a letter from client if possible. else I think it should be OK ..

Another related question.

I came to USA on tourist visa and got my status changed to H1-B while staying in US. I'm planning to visit India in Feb 2006 and I'm trying to get an appointment in New Delhi using this link http://www.vfs-usa.co.in. One of the field in the form is asking for serial number of receipt (I'm not sure what that is). I've tried all the numbers on my visa and passport but it says invalid receipt number. Please assist. Thanks!

the current process of appts on vfs website requires that u pay the fees first at any hdfc bank branch and enter the fee payment receipt number to continue with the appt process.
U can find full info about the process on the vfs website
