Adding Spouse's Name on Passport

We are in US and travelling to India to get Visa Stamping. Is it necessary to add my spouse's name on my passport? If yes, is it required for revalidation or at port of entry in US?

There is noi absoulte need for every one to have the spouse name in the passport. Especially If you already have the valid USA visa no need to worry.
