I saw in the old threads that I would need to send my W-2 form. I've not filed income tax in US yet as it's just over 6 months since I came here. So, what should I do for this?

And Do I need to send my Birth Certificate or my wife's Birth Certificate or both?

When is your mil going for the interview? If it is early next year I would recommend to file taxes and send those papers. If she is going before end of year then don't worry but prepare her for the answer why you don't have your W2 or 1040(tax papers). Hope you have sent the pay stubs.

If you are sponsering you can just send the photocopy of your birth certificate and original brith certificate of your wife.

Her interview is on Jan 5th at Mumbai. And I think for mumbai, documents need to be submitted 2 weeks in advance at one of the local Visa Application Centers. That being the case, I don't think I would be able to file my tax forms before that. Will it be okay if she explains the same to consulate officer ??

Also neither me nor my wife have Birth Certificates. Are they very particular about the same?

Incase she has her interview on Jan5th just prepare her for the answers it should be fine.

She needs to carry original birth certificate of your wife. Yours is more optonal.
