H4 to H1 stamping

Hi,

I came to US last year in June on H4. I got my H1 B this year April. I'm planning to go India this year end. I want to know if I can get my H1 stamped here in St. Louis. As I have heard that visa transfer can not be stamped in St. Louis. If yes what all documents are required.

You can't, the same kind of visa can be re-stamped in US. i.e h1 to new h1 and not h4 to h1.

can you pls let all of us know what kind of a job did you land with ?

its such a rare case that people on h4 don't find a job and there are a very few companies which process an h1 ( esp. in this economy )... so we all are just curious...
