First of all let me thank path2usa for the help needed to prepare for my mother's visa.
Both in terms of documents needed and help provided by others on the forum
----------------------------------------------------------
I had sponsored my mother.
During the interview, my mother gave my documents first to the officer.
The officer looked at it ( I had given all the documents and had them ordered with sticky notes and clips).
1. Then she asked my mother for her passport. she gave it.
2. Then she asked my mother how much pension she gets. My mother said Rs. XXXX and also profit from the business she is doing .
3. Then the officer asked how much is the profit. My mother said Rs. 10000.
4. Then the officer said, ok , you will get the passport stamped in 2 days. Go and pay the fees for processing the visa.
All in all the interview took only 5 minutes.
The officer did not ask for any of my mother's documents
(she had prepared a huge bundle of documents)
Incidentally, the officer did not tell her for how long the visa was valid.
We only found that out when we received the passport 2 days later. (it was for 10 years)
