latest H1 Revalidation in US

I am starting this topic,because this is only way how people can guess, how long it's gonna take for his/her H1 revalidation.

if you/your friend went through revalidation process and got his/her passport in last 3.5 months,please post how long did it take for the process and applied and recieved date.

I am also waiting for my passport.

I got my VISA on Aug.29 2003 too, but my new VISA expiration date is Aug.27 2003. So , this is incorrect. What can I do next? help me..... :( (

is that the date u mailed your passport or the date Washington office recieved your passport.please clarify me.
I sent my passport on May 3 -2003 through Fed-ex.not heard anything yet.

"employment letter " that is required for revalidation.

There is no standard format for it...
Make sure you get the letter on company's letter head
and your job description on it..Let me know if you need
more information..

Even I need to know if INS looks for something specific in the visa revalidation letter. The format I have is -

Para 1 - Request visa revalidation until date got from H1b approval notice

Para 2 - Brief description of the employer, copied from the H1b petition submitted by the lawyer to the INS

Para 3 - Brief description of educational qualification, job responsibilities and salary, copied from the H1b petition submitted by lawyer to the INS

The letter will be on company's letterhead signed by the president of the company.

Am I missing something or is this information enough?

Can you tell me how easy or difficult the process of restamping (H1B) is from India. I came here with B1 visa and got my H1B visa subsequently. I will be going to india so I need H1B stamping. Will that be a problem?

Just received passports sent for revalidation with visa stamps for myself and family memebers. It took about 3 months for the process.
Date sent: Aug.16, 2003
Date recd.: Nov. 19, 2003

I also sent my passport for renewal aug 21 - they entered it into system sept 27. I need to go to India in Dec. Will I be able to get it back by dec 10? Please Help.

If I go to delhi- how long does the drop box processing take? Also, can they refuse the visa in delhi. I dont want to get stuck.

Don't worry ...you will get it by next week. One of my friends told me that Now they processing application received on sept 15. I am sure you will be getting it by next week. It may get delayed by a day or two due to thanksgiving holidays.
By all means, you should be getting before dec 1. So don't try to withdraw applications.

My brother is working in U.S. as a Pharmacist on H1B visa. Previously he was a student and On F1 visa, He has changed his category to H1B in U.S. Now he want to come India in december. What is the procedure for the same. What time require for such procedure at consulate in India ?
