Getting DL in VA

Hi All,

I'm joining my husband in VA on H4 soon .
Is it possible to get DL in VA on H4 ? I don't have IDP so is it good idea to get IDP here in India ?
Please suggest me.

yes you can get the DL, but first you need to geta letter from Social that youi are not eligible for Social security and take your passport, visa, etc. for gettiung your id & the your DL. will need to give a written test first to get the driving permit.
