Sponsorship to Visitors Visa

I am planning to invite both my parents on visitor visa. My question here is how much funds ideally need to be shown as financial position support. I have been here just a 4 months back in US. So obviously there are not much funds in my income.
Will it be Ok if I ask them to go for Visa interview? The appointment is already booked.

Generally 5K$ is considered to be OK.
Yes they should go for the interview with all the documents and preparartion.

It would be a good idea if they the showed property/income/savings etc.
