VFS Apppointment prepone - details

Hi, I got appointment for visitor visa for my parents in website http://www.vfs-usa.co.in on 1 March 2006. Did anyone try to prepone the apppointment. I am trying hard to prepone the date but every time it says no dates available. I came to know that a lot of dates are availble in ttsvisas - does anyone know when these free dates will be transferred to vfs site so that we can prepone the date in vfs site. Did any one try to prepone in vfs website

Hi, I have made an appt with TTS and did a preponement 2 months back, no experience with the VFS system. I have a feeling that the TTs and VFS systems are independent and the free dates won't be transferred.

if dates are available in VFS itself..then u can prepose. but u can;t use the TTS dates.
situation has become worst than improving after moving to VFS.

Where you could see the message 'No dates avaialble' ?
Me too have an appointment on Mar 1 2006 and when I tried to reschedule EVERYTIME it is
-asking to enter details
-Will display the current appointment
-Reschedule button click
--No option to change dates --> once again same CURRENT appointment Display
--Asking to Confirm Reschedule without allowing to change.

I was afraid to click on the 'Confrim Reschedule' (they threaten you that they will allow ONLY one change in your life time) to see whether there is another page that will allow me to select dates (I tired when future dates were avaialble).

TTS visa was bad...this new thing is pathetic and worst.

Yes, I followed the same process exactly. After entering the details it threatens to confirm whether you really want to reschedule and then it comes with message "no option to change dates" -- pathetic. I hope one day the tts dates will be transferred to vfs.

Can you please clarify again. Are you getting this message after clicking the "CONFIRM RESCHEDULE" button and Not the "RESCHEDULE" button first ?

I am confused because, they should have that CONFIRM RESCHEDULE button only after allowing the applicant to select new dates.

If its after the "CONFIRM RESCHEDULE" button, then I assume the click on "CONFIRM RESCHEDULE" button will give another page with dates to select (if avaialble) and may be nother button there saying "doble reconfirm your appointment" or something ?

I got an Appointment for English at chennai consulate on March 27th 06.
I had seen a slot empty on March 16th and tried to reschedule the appointment,

I had the same experience as stated above and got the "Only allowed once" popup and even after clicking yes, the dates did not change....

I thought the whole idea of moving to VFS was to be able to prepone dates...
But no luck so far

If anyone in the forum has been successfull at preponing the dates , please share the step by step procedure....

And i have never seen any dates free for chennai fro english in the past 2 weeks.

Anyone having better luck?

Hi ,

Finally I was able to prepone the dates.
Only if we see free slots available , then only the reschedule links works properly.But you have to agree to that one time only rescheduling popup.

But i have used up my one chance...
As per the system it allows this only once and next time i have to cancel and take fresh appointment ;-(
!!!

Did anyone try this also ? Cancel and take fresh appointment ? How risky is it?

Hi,

1) Click on the Reschedule Appt Tab
2) Select No in the "Do you have BEP ID" screen
3) Click Continue in next screen
4) Enter the details asked for like name , passport num , reciept num , ramdom generated num
5) Next screen shows a table which lists your appointment (If you have taken appointment along with your family , all the members will be listed) , Select every one and click Continue
6) It will throw a warning popup that " Rescheduling can be done only once" , Click on Yes to continue
7) A calendar will be shown where the free slots will be displayed
8) Again on clicking continue, one more message telling that rescheduling is allowed only once appears and if clicked, the appointment gets rescheduled and also the new docs are listed for download , all the other forms remain the same, only the interview letter changes showing the new appointment .

But the biggest disadvantage is the rescheduling only once restriction....Very irritating.

But the above steps work.

i have tried to prepone appointment after rescheduling once. i had to cancel prev apt and then fill fresh form and then confirm apt. by the time i cud fil the form the godly dates wud disappear... real mess.. later i used to keep 2 windows open . one with reschedule window and other window with dates availibility. wenever date was available used to go to the reshcedule window and quickly cancel n fill forms.

We had an appontment for my mom on Feb 28th. We could reschedule 2 days back to Jan 10th. I just checked vfs website again. dates are available in January starting 24th. I do not know how exactly you can reschedule... But the dates have opened up in vfs site. May be you should check and follow steps suggested by Indian _V.

Hi,

I had taken an visa appointment for my mother in law on March 6th and now I have preponed it to Jan 6th in chennai consulate.
It is very easy to prepone the appointments.
The steps are as follows
Once you see the current date of appointment, we have a button on screen Reschedule appointment.
Click on that button and follow the steps mentioned there
It will show you the dates if available earlier

Only one thing is we can reschedule an appointment only once.

hi all..

i hv tried preponing and cancelling and taking fresh apt also.. its true that u can reschedule only once. for second reshceduling u will hv to cancel the existing one and apply for a fresh one. but it takes time to fill from 156 adn 157 again. byt that time the only available date will be gayab.. u shud take the chance of cancelling and applying again only if u have 4-5 dates available. so by the time u finish filling the never ending forms u can have ur hands on atleast one date..

since today morning i cud see 3-4 dates in jan. but by the time i click on reschedule button the date is gone..so we need to be on the reschedule screen all the time and keep on refreshing.. first u get Reschedule button. click on it. no problem.. then again it asks 'Confrim Reshcedule'. click on it. then again 'Continue' button. click on it.. it will show u available dates. if u wish to reschedule click on any of the dates. else u have a option of 'Exit' also. u can exit. simple.. until and uless u click on any date it wont get rescheduled.. dont worry.. i hv tried.. all thebest...
