Hi,
My mother is reapplying for a visitor's visa. I have a few questions...
a) What reason should she give for travelling to the US? Can she say tourism again when she has already been here twice, once for 4 months and again for 6 months?
b) She has to apply to the Chennai consulate since we live in the south. I tried getting an appointment but it says full until Feb 2006 and has a not open status after that. Can she apply in the Delhi consulate? I read that she needs a reason for why she wants to apply earlier. What kind of a reason would be compelling.
Thanks

u must provide valid reasons for emergency travel if booking at delhi
for b2 visas - applyng outside the regional consulate might be risky
please contact ttsvisas for clarification

valid reasons are:
tourism
visit son/daughter.

Hi,
My husband and I were trying to sponsor my sister and her 2 kids to visit USA. We sent her necesarry documents such as: sponsor letter, bank statement, reference letter from the Bank, affidavit of support, business card ( i even copied my ID Card shows I am GA Dept. of Labor employee), marriage certificate, stocks/retirement, pictures etc etc. And my sister provides: family card, ownership of the preschool, marriage certificate, ID, proof of residency, etc etc except she does not have a bank statement (she doesnt have a bank account - in Indonesia is not common to have a personal/small business bank account).

We were very confident she and her kids would get a visa. But to my surprised, she told me her application was denied without specific reason. My husband and I were furious. We have no clue what's wrong. My sister said that all documents the interviewer requested were provided including our marriage certificate, but my sister could not prove her bank account (this is the only thing I can think of why her application being rejected).

Her appointment was at 7:am (even though the office was open at 8am), she told me she was there early in the morning and the interview was last 'til 3pm.... (the interview itself took less than an hour, but the waiting period which took forever)...Unbelievable, she stayed for hours and hours, just to receive a rejection letter!!!!!!!

I found that was ridiculous! I still can not believe she did not get her visa. Any documents you need to prove or convince us as a sponsor is there.....

I wish we could appeal!! It is not fair at all... I really think it is not about the documents, I think it is more how the interviewer feels that day..if he or she is in a good mood, perhaps my sister will get her visa...!!! I don't feel justice served at all in my sister's case!!!!!
