Hi,

My parents have the Visitor Visa interview in 1st week of September. I have a few questions. Kindly advice us & do the needful:

1) I am here in USA since 2 months on H1B. So, is it very mandatory to show somw solid balance in bank? Or is there any specific limit. Could they manage saying that our son been there shortly & so the balance is not much. I think i should not have any issues in showing uptp $5,000 or $6,000.

2) My dad is retired since 4 years. My mother is a home maker. All we can show on the Parents affidavit is the Property in my father's name, rent from one house, lease amount from our ground floor houses & may be some 50,000 bank balance.

I am really not understanding what else can we show on the parents affidavit for some strong ties at India other than property.

My elder brother is married & settled in Bangalore & has a kid (3 years). My younger sister is married & settled in Bangalore & has a kid (2.5 years). My father dowsn't have his parents anymore & my mother's dad is expired & mother is serious & in hospital.

Please take time & provide your suggestions & help me.

Thanks & Regards,
Kumar

While during of your stay in USA is not imporatant all the time and not the main criteira how ever in such case officer may put more stress on your ability to support thier trip and hence the bank balance may be imporatnt factor, however any thing 5K$ is generally considered to be enough.
For rest of the your question, during the interview officer determine based on the question answers, and do not worry too much about it, just follow the process and prepare them for interview.
