What is passport is expired?

Hi,

My Passport is expired and I have submitted for renewal. My Parent's visa interview is there on Sep 1st. Is it ok to just send the photocopies of the exisiting PP and have a letter that says that renewal is submitted.

Is that ok , can someone confirm?

Hi,
A copy of the US person's passport is sufficient. They intended travelers should have a passport for atleast 6 months validity. The renewal of US relative's passport can be mentioned in the cover letter to the consulate, and any proof of having submitted it for renewal can be produced if asked for the same at the time of the consular interview.
