Wrong Birthdate on DS-156 ? Urgent

Here is the situation.

We have filled wrong Birthdate on DS-156 form for my father -in-law.

His birthdate printed on back of the passport is 28-June-1951. His actual birthdate is 28-August-1951. We corrected the passport few months back and they put the corrected information on page 5 of the passport.

But on DS-156 we have filled 26-June-1951.Different from both above. No idea how that happened.

But what can we do right now ? Inlaws have interview on Aug 9th at Mumbai . We came to know about this today. The consulate had called our in-laws and asked to Fax the page 5 (where the corrected information) of my father-law's passport. They have done so.

How much is this going to effect ? We can somehow manage my brother-in-law to fill a new DS-156 form . Will this be helpful ? Will they accept a new DS-156 form ? How much will they grill my in-laws in the interview regarding this ?
Also my father-in-law has documents containing Original birthdate. Will carrying them be helpful.

please this is very urgent.

do not worry, tou already sent the fax.
Also prepare a new applicaton and keep it ready, carry it when go for interview, incase asked provide that new application with the correct information.
