Hi
My friend has got here visa (B2 ) from Mumbai consulate today and on the visa it is written Annotation - "Going with husband for office mtg Phoenix,AZ. whereas her husband who is actually going to NY on official trip and invitation letter also stated that she will be going with her husband to NY.
What needs to be done in this case. can this be a problem at port of entry ?
how can this be corrected now ?
Highly appreciate responses.
Thanks

I do not see this as a major problme, this is just a minor mistake. however If possible just let them know , call consulate and discuss.

Hi Murli, thanks for your response.
But I am still doubtful, wouldn't that increase chances of rejection, if we contact consulate again. and another thing can it be a problem at Port of Entry when Visa- annotation says going to Pheonix, AZ and port of entry is NY.
I saw another response from Veena to "different port of entry", where it is clearly stated that different Port of entry can be an issue if Visa-annotation has specifically mentioned some different location.
please respond..
Thanks

hi,
I know of cases where there has been trouble at the port of entry. However, there is a provision for correction of details on the visa page. I think it will apply to the errors made inadvertantly by the Consulate, they do this service free of charge. I know for sure that corrections in name in the visa page can be made this way. But you should really verify whether it can be done for annotations also. And the service is available at Chennai. Pls verify if it is available at Mumbai. See if the link will help

If you are not able to do anything in this regard, then your friend can land in Arizona and then travel to NY!

Hi,
I think a minor matter is being unnecessarily precipitated. U have been issued a B1 /B2 U.S visa and authorised to travel legally anywhere in the U.S. although ur primary objective should be ur husband's meeting.
