Hi, my brother had an interview at Mumbai embassy for F1 visa second time. after 20 minute interview, VF told him that he cannot grant visa at this time, come next time. now confusion is when you get rejected they give you letter which explain under which reason you are rejected. for example 214(B) and stuff. But my brother got letter without any reason marked on it.. there is no indication why he got rejected.
any idea about similar situation? anybody had similar experience.. ? or does visa officer still interested in granting visa.? should my brother go for third time as visa officer told him?
please post your answer asap.
thanks,

Hi,
Low scores either in academics or low GRE/TOEFL scores might be a reason for rejection. The definition for low score by the Consulate might not be similar to the University's which gave him admission. And the University that he has chosen and the subject he wants to study should have some relevance. Could these be the reasons for rejection?

Veena is only partly right. A student-visa is a non-immigrant visa ie the applicant has to irrevocablyprove to the Consular Officer that the applicant is going to come back to India after his studies are over. One way to prove is to show property, family ties in India, etc.

If you show that you have someone in USA who is going to sponsor you or the tution fees are coming from the US then the consulate can also reject. You will need to show that all the funds (ie covering all expenses like tution fees, living, mediacal insurance) are being covered from India and with a certain ammount of liquid cash in the bank.

I would suggest Not to go to the interview for the 3rd. time , 'cause as far i know if they reject you again then you cant apply for any other kind of visa for the next 2yrs.

Hope this helps. All The Best.

ps: Dude, india is booming right now, you guys are in the right place at the right time
