Appointment Dates - Need Info

I need to bring my parents on a Visitor visa.

Do you know how many days in advance US Consulate updates the system to let us select the dates? I am looking at November as the appointment date. When I checked it today, it was updated until Oct and all dates were already blocked.

What are all the documents I would need just to take the appointment? Please help.

All available dates and info about required documents can be found on any consulate website.
for mumbai consulate u can get the details on visa-services.com. U can get earlier dates by taking appt in person at vfs office.
For other consulates, It may be possible to advance dates using modify appt option on ttsvisas.com
