Hi,

My parents are appearing for an interview on 06/13/05 (Monday).

We (Myself and MY sister) are in US. And we are only son and daughter. I am studying and having a F1 VISA. MY sister is on H4 VISA. My brother in law is sponsoring the VISA for my parents. My question is

1. How do we answer the DS 156 Q37... Son/Daughter? Shall we write both Son and Daughter VIsa status for Q37?
2. Shall we take a chance to lie to the officers saying that I am in India?
3. Do they have any ways to find out that, I am in US when they go for an interview?

I appriciate your help?

Thanks and Regards,
Raj

that we are in US?

Would advise not to lie to visa officer if your intensions are good that you want to bring your mom on visitor visa for short time , prepare your case well and convince the visa officer that your mom would return after a short visit.

If you lie and got caught there would be no next time.

My advise would be to tell upfront that both kids are in the US, b/c if they run your name etc in the database they may find out, the chance that they may actually check that depends on the officer, I think play it safe and since you both are in the US and it is not against the law for two siblings to be in US you should not worry, make sure she can answer the questions well during her interview
