Hi Friends,
My wife and I got our fresh H4 and H1 visas stamped after an initial 221(g).
I would like to thank everyone on this forum for being so kind to extend their help.
I would like to specially thank the senior members like Murali, Ronline who make this
forum very much useful to 100s and 1000s of people planning to go to US.
To brief a bit on my experience, I had gone to the chennai consulate for the first time
in April 2005 and got a 221(g) asking for some 6 documents.
I went to the consulate again in May 2005 for the second time.
The officer had asked me some 5 to 6 qustions just to see how confident I am and
I handled them very well.
None of the questions were too technical. The consulate officers
who issue the visas are generally not aware of any technical details.
I heard that they are just psychologists who can read the mind of someone and tell
upfront whether the guy is confident or not.
So, like many people have already mentioned, the key it to be "confident" and "believe
in god"
I actually thought of writing a detailed email to share various things like : documents to
be taken, process at the consulate, general questions asked at the interview.
But again, wasn't sure if anyone requires things in such detail. If anyone wants to
know anything, please post a thread with "spbg77" added to the subject line and I
promise to reply with all I know ASAP.
One more thing to note, prior to going for H1 stamping I already had a B1 visa stamped
from a company in India and it did not get cancelled.
Thanks a ton to everyone again,
Best Regards,
