Hi all,

My parents went to Pune Visa center and got the appointment for July 10th at Mumbai Consulate. Pune Visa center has already sent the required papers to the Mumbai Cosulate.

I want my parents to come here as early as possible. I read in some posts here saying that they kept preponing the appointment on the Mumbai Visa website.

My Question is:

1) B'coz, the appointment for my parents was taken offline, Can I now try to prepone it (if the dates are available) through their website? If yes, What are thr risks involved?

2) Do I have to cancel the first appointment, "BEFORE" making the newer appointment?

3) There is a requisit for Online appointments, which says that the consulate should receive sponsor's papers 30 days prior to the apoointment date, otherwise the appointment would be considered void. Now that appointment has been taken Offline and the papers are already sent by pune office to the mumbai consulate, can I take a web appointment now and then keep checking for any ealier available dates..?

I hope I was able to put my questions correctly. It will be a great help if anyone could clear my doubts.

Thanks and Regards,
KYN.

I doubt you can take a web appointment while you already have an existing offline appointment.
You should ask your parents to call the VFS at Pune to find out how they can change their appointment dates; they'd be able to best help.

Usually, when you have an online appointment, you can look for suitable open slots and then chose to "modify" your slot, so thats different from cancelling and rebooking. Atleast on the ttsvisas website (for Delhi/Chennai/Kolkatta) you can...the funny thing is that the VFS website says that you cannot bring forward/postpone your appointment on their website!!

Generally the online appt dates are much farther than offline dates.
U have options to reschedule appts online based on ur appt ref number,
However its very unlikely that u wld get earlier dates.

Please contact vfs for clarification.

When I had contacted VFS with similar question, they said they do not have the facility of changing the appointment dates. The waitlist option which allows to reschedule the appointments and get the dates canceled by others is available only on ttvisas. But Mumabi consulate does not provide this.

For mumbai consulate, if u need to book the appt at a date different from earlier date u have to delete prior appt and repeat the entire process.
This link has more info (visa-services.com/webappt.html)
This can move the dates further - Better to contact vfs personally and check if they can provide any earlier dates.
