Someone in the experience section mentioned that they used all evisaforms..what does EVISAFORM mean??...
other than the visa appointment is there anything to be filled and submitted online?
I'm aware of only visa appointment form which is filled and submitted online. and all the rest of the doc to be carried by the applicants to CHENNAI consulate..
Can someone please confirm if there will be anything else to be submitted online ??
Thanks

napolims445:
The e-visa DS-156 form is used in India, at present, only for emergency appointments and for government official and diplomats. For a short period, as the option to book an appointment through the VFS counter service is curtailed, those who have handwritten or typed DS-156s are also being requested to bring e-visa forms with them to their interview.
If you read the notice in the U.S. Embassy's website (the New Delhi website), it says those who booked an appointment online through VFS are NOT affected by the latter requirement, that is, the requirement to bring an e-visa DS-156 form. Just bring to your interview the forms you completed and printed when you booked through VFS. There are no other forms to worry about.

The E-Visa Application Form DS-156 can be found at http://evisaforms.state.gov/ should anyone need to use it. Please read my previous post for its uses.
The use of this form is not applicable to the majority of U.S. visa applicants in India and Bhutan at present.
