Hi,

I am in the process of sending documents for my father who is going for his interview in chennai on April 26th and realized that the surname of his (in the passport) is misspelled and my surname (which is same as his) is correct in my passport. Does this matter. Should he get it corrected now.. I assume it will take a very long time and so it wont be ready for his interview date.

Well, if the misspell is minor that OK but it is quite different than try to get it rectified, it takes just one day to go to local passport offcie and get it fixed.
Else if do not have enough time, provide the name as per passport and incase asked tell the fact that "since there was mistake in passport and the general guidlines are that fill as in passport so I have provide the info in the form as in passport" ..
I hope this should not be problem.
