Hi,

I am going to USA (New Jersey) for the 1st time in my life for 2-3 months from India (Mumbai) on a business through my company and I am in the process of applying VISA.

I have an old passport, which had expired in year 1996, and hence the same got cancelled in 1996 and I was issued a new passport in 1996.

Now the old cancelled passport is in a fine condition but the problem is that 1 page (which carries my photo) is half-torn (actually missing) and I don't know if this will be an issue at the time of VISA.

Please advice me and also confirm me if it is mandatory to submit my "canceled" passport along with my new passport during Visa processing. If "Yes" then what is the solution for the half-torn page in my "Cancelled" passport.

I will be grateful if you could reply back to me ASAP.

Thanks & Regards,
Prakash Shewakramani
Mumbai.

You dont need the old passport. All the forms ect you should use the new passport reference.
You should, however carry the old passport with you at the time of visa interview in case asked show them and tll the truth if aksed.
Do not worry ..take it easy
