Hi,
My mum entered US on 10th March, 2005 on B1 visa and surprisingly her I94 was stamped for 9th ,March, 2008. If she stays for three years, what are the consequences?
Please help.
-Thanks

I don't see any problem logically because of the fact that I94 is the one which defines the legal stay of a person in US.
This is also strange how the office gave 3yrs on B1/B2 visa, generally it is max 6 monts. The officer may have confused with visa type etc. Any way you don't worry.
Before making any decision make sure that there is no typo in his writing on the I94 and the date is indeed the one you are reading ?

This definitely is a typo and legally the max allowed duration that an immigration inspector can grant is 6 months, you should go to your local BCIS office and show them the I 94 and they will most probably change it to 6 months, keep all copies of all documents submitted/ received.
