I would like to sponsor for my inlaws, Is it better for my MIL to come first and then after a month for my FIL to come or will it be better if they both attend interview at the same time and come together? will this make any difference?

ome more doubt is they both have been living abroad in dubai and now settled in India, but now as their old passport expired long time back they applied for new one without showing details of the old passport. so when interviewed if they ask " have u visited any other countries?" what shud they answer, as they can't show proof of old passport? hope i am explaining this clearly.
Thankyou.

I dont know why you would want to go through the same process twice, if they have strong social & economic ties to India then it does not really matter if they apply jointly or individually, since they are married and only one applies then they will ask why the other person is not travelling, and later you are going to make that same person apply, I think it is better to apply togeather if they can document social & economic ties to India.

When asked about their travel abroad they should answer truthfully and mention that they lived in Dubai and have a photocopy of their visa, I doubt it if the officer will ask for proof, if asked they can say it is in the old passport, which they should carry with them to the interview, many people staple the old one to the new one, so this forces the officer to atleast skim through the old one.
