Hi all,
I got a reply from the German consulate, which says that my parents do need a transit visa (I think its the exact same 'automated' msg. which 'laxshmisan' also got)..Refer to earlier post:

Since my parents leave coming wednesday..what are my options?
Anyone who has experience of getting a transit visa from Germany airport? Is it risky to get a visa from the german airport? Is it issued by default, when getting down from the palne, to all passengers getting down at Fankfurt?? What all documents and how much fees do thay need to get the T-visa in Frankfurt? Any forms that have to be filled earlier?? Pls. share your experiences.

Should i apply to the Germ. consulate office at Boston Tommorow instead? I need passport photos, 47$ per person + and copy/original of passport, ticket etc...But do I get the visa back tommorow itself. I cant risk anything, since I just have 3 days left before my parents leave..

Kindly advice..I am obviously mad at these rules

The same happened to me.You have to submit orginal passport, one copy of passport, copy of ticket,1 passport photo, copy of visa,$47 fee. They ask you to come and collect back passport in 2 days.
I hate thse rules too...looks like all they want is money !!!!!
