My mom's Visitor visa is scheduled for tomorrow.
She has been to US 4 years ago.. does that mean she will be automatically given a 10 year visa ?? thats my assumption.
Some of my friends were saying we need mention it at some place in an application .. I havent found anything in the DS-156 form.
can someone throw light on this isssue
Thanks a bunch

The length of the visa is decided by the consulate officer and there is option for an applicant to specify it in the application.
Generally , if a person hold any previous US visa the next time they get 10yrs visa stamp.
So take it easy ..

I guess there is no space to mention that. Please review my post. That might help.

There is no space in the DS-156 to mention that, however the best thing to do is to give a good interview and chances are they will give a 10 yr visa. Prepare her for the interview by going over interview tips on our website.

They have issued a 10 year visa for my mom
I guess for 2nd time visitors its automatically a 10 year visa.
As far as I know she didnt mention anywhere in her visa app for a 10 year visa.
Thanks guys for your responses
