Hi all,
Yesterday my in laws had inteview at chennai consulate. After fews question their visa rejected.
Following are questions they asked
For Mother in law
1. How many children you have
one Daughter and two sons
For Father in law
1. what are you doing
Business
2.how long is your daughter staying in US?
3 years
3. What is your daughter doing?
Now she is not working . She worked before.
Actually I am Sponsering their trip . But my wife worked for couple of months on EAD. So we told to answer like that, also we send jointly filed tax returns.
Is that answer to interviwer made doubt that my wife is not working now ?
Is there any way to get early appointment in chennai consulate?

Hi all,
Following is 214(b) section for reason to reject:
Section 214(b) of the United States Immigration and Nationality Act states that: "Every alien shall be presumed to be an immigrant until he establishes to the satisfaction of the consular officer, at the time of application for a visa that he is entitled to non-immigrant status" This means that most visa applicants* must convince the Consular Officer of the following:
# that he or she intends to return to his or her home in India following a temporary stay in the United States,
# that his or her financial situation is such that he or she can afford the trip without having to seek unauthorized employment in the U.S.,
# that the travel is for legitimate purposes permitted by the applicant's visa category.
Can any one tell what are the documents to take next time
Thanks

Did you follow the document list posted on this website? They have to prove that they have social and economic ties in India that will force them to return to India, the fact that your wife is not working now does not really matter that much, since you are working and sponsoring. Make sure all documents were prepared and train them again for the interview, which is key.

Thank for your Reply,
Yes I followed the list from this website.
Do I need to prepare my(Sponser) documents and applicant documents once again for next interview or the old set works?
Documents like I 134, D -156 , emp letter, bank letter etc.,
Thanks

If you get the next appt quick enough like within 1-2 months from date of first interview, its ok to submit the previous I-134.
But you still have to send new DS 156.There is a column where it says"have you ever been denied us visa? When?" you have to put "Yes and the date of rejection"...... So this info willl change.
Rest of the things depends on how old the first set were when you sent.Make sure all documents are latest , 2-3 months old (max) not more than that.
Also make sure that they prepare for the i/v well and they are confident in answering the officer. Thats the key.Ask them to go relaxed and casual. They will get it.
All the best!
Hope this helps,
Saras

Hi all,
My In laws rejected again. How long is that query valuable. Next time my brother in law will sponser. Do we need to mention their previous rejections.
Thanks
