hi there
i am on h4 . my husband sponsored for my parents. they belong to chennai consulate and went to delhi.they rejected the visa on 214 (b). so we tried for another appointment and they went after one week, just yesterday, they rejected again.
the first time, my parents wrote 6 motnhs int he application, but when asked said 3months stay, so the lady started asking questions on that. my dad is a govt official so said that he would not get leave for more than 3 months. then she saked his sal and annual savings and , rejected saying u don't have sufficient funds to stay for 3 months in us inspite of my parents telling them that son in law will bear the expenses.
now can we apply again. if yes should we wait for min time.can anyone suggest.

You have to stick by what is on the application, whenever applying mentioning 2 or 3 months is always better, since your father contradicted the information on the application the officer got suspicious, just reapply and next time mention that they want to stay for 3 months and that last time they put down the wrong duration on the application, they should be in good shape, train them on body language and to look in the eye of the officer when answering questions.

hi thanks for the reply. the second time they wrote 3 months and said 3 months but , his first question was u wrote last time 6 months now u wrote 3 months, and my dad gave the same reply as u said , but he said application cannot be wrong.. and he checked my husband's papers and started asking why my husband did not gc yet inspite of staying since 7 years and what i do and how much the trip will cost and who will pay and again said i am sorry i can't issue visa.my mom asked why sir, what should we do now. he said u apply again. actually my due date is in april so we tried two times within 10 days. now can we apply again in chennai or should we wait for sometime. how much do u think we should show bank balance here(in $).can u pls suggest.

1) Explain to your parents why it has taken 7 years for your husband to get a GC, so they can explain it to the officer. (send copies of all notices etc from BCIS)

2) Any amount over 5K should be enough to show

3) Apply again since the officer said they should, and they keep notes about all the interview so this time tell them to state 3 months, and the reason is that they have to come back due to economic and social reasons, so it sounds genuine that they really cant stay there for 6 months.
