Hi all.

My PILs visa was granted last week in New Delhi.
I would like to details for others.

List of documents: I followed the list of documents provided on this site. Be careful that your paystub and AOS (affidavit of support) is not stale. 10-15 days is okay.

In addition to this, I also sent my marriage certificate in original, My DOB certificate in original, notarized copy of my wife's passport, copy of her GC

Questions asked:

why do u wanna visit US: Ans: To see US and meet our son-in-law and daughter

After this most of the questions were about my wife though I was the sponsor.

Anyhow...more questions:

What is yr daughter's name?

Where does she live?

When did she go to US?

Why did she go to US?

What is her DOB?

Where is she working?

Show me your employment letter, any ID (from job)?

How long do u wanna visit them?

Thats all.
They even did not bother to look at the documents at all.

Just go to a notary with original passport, copy of the passport and photo ID.
He/she will give a certificate for passport.
They have standard format /procedure for passports.

He will stamp the first page of the passport copy and give u the certificate,
No need to sign each and every page of passport.

Send the original certificate from Notary along with passport copy with yr documents.
