My wife was issued an H4 visa from chennai consulate in Jan2002 , she was in us since Jan 2002 and has got H4 extention till 2007. Now she is in India on vacation and wanted to get new H4 visa stamped. I wanted to know can she visit Mumbai consulate as our permanent residence is in MP ( Western India) or we have to go to chennai consulate only. When she travelled from US we didnot realised that she may have to got to chennai and there is a long wait to even get appointment.
Also , lets say if Visa Services give us appointment at Mumbai, do you see if problem that consulate officer will ask us to go to Chennai (given the fact that she visiting India on vacation and daughter goes to school and we have already made travel bookings)
My next question If she cannot go to Mumbai can she go to Delhi. ( as a information her B2 visa in Jun 2001 wa rejected by Mumbai consulate and then she wass later issued H4 by chennai consulate).
Info / experience is greatly appriciated.
