Hi All,
Thanks to the forum originator and all the partcipents for helping me in getting Visa for my parents.
Today at 11:45 AM my parents got the visas at Chennai.
parents are 45 and 49 yrs old. Father is Govt servant.
We didn't opt transelator at the time of interview setup but at the consulate they were asked for an option for which my father took it.
Quetions asked:
1. Who is there in US
1A. How long he is been in US.
2. Why are you going
3. How long are you planning - 3 to 4 months
4. What do you do?
5. How much service left with State Govt.
These are the questions they were asked. As of now I do not know the duration of visa.
Thanks once again to all...

Thanks for your input, i'm also inviting my in-laws to visit USA.
I have few Qs
1. Do we need to have original birth certificates of me and my wife and our marriage certificate or is it ok if I send the copies?
2. Shud I attach tax return papers(i.e form 1040) or only copies of W-2 form are sufficient? Should I notarize copies of W-2 forms?
3. Do we need to notarize photo copies of passport and other certificates we are sending? If yes, How do we notarize the passport which has 30+ pages, I mean do we require to write a letter that these is exact copy of the passport and signed by notary person or do we write the same sentense on the first page of copy of passport
or notary person shud sign each and every page of the passport?
Can you please reply, what did you do about passport, birth certificate and tax return/W-2.
Thanks in advance.

2. Shud I attach tax return papers(i.e form 1040) or only copies of W-2 form are sufficient? Should I notarize copies of W-2 forms?
A: I sent all years' W-2 copies with out notary sign.
3. Do we need to notarize photo copies of passport and other certificates we are sending? If yes, How do we notarize the passport which has 30+ pages, I mean do we require to write a letter that these is exact copy of the passport and signed by notary person or do we write the same sentense on the first page of copy of passport

A: I don't think it is needed.
Hint: Since you are inviting MILs, you must send your spouce's passport copies, whcich I think you are already doing.
Hope this helps. Thx.

My suggestions are listed here. Please do not think as final answers. Go thru this site completely you will get answers and opinions.
In form DS-0165
1.what abt 22 Q when do you intend to arrive in the us- is month ok? Because We didn't book the tickets yet
A: Week and month of the year. Ex: 2nd week of April '04. It is good to book the tickets after you get the visa stamped.
2. 28Q who will pay for your trip? for this should I write relationship or name of the person who he is sponsoring
A: Who ever is responsible. You can write both. First name and then relation ship. Ex: My son, Prakash Lenty will be sponsoring.
3. 34Q name and relationships persons traveling with you? even though they are going together for stamping, they may not come togehter to usa, then what shud i write?
I would write both names.
Hope this helps.. good luck.
