Hi,

I am inviting my in-laws to visit USA. I have few quesions regarding documents sponsor has to supply.

1. Do we need to have original birth certificates of me and my wife and our marriage certificate or is it ok if I send the copies?
2. Shud I attach tax return papers(i.e form 1040) or only copies of W-2 form are sufficient? Should I notarize copies of W-2 forms?
3. Do we need to notarize photo copies of passport and other certificates we are sending? If yes, How do we notarize the passport which has 30+ pages, I mean do we require to write a letter that these is exact copy of the passport and signed by notary person or do we write the same sentense on the first page of copy of passport
or notary person shud sign each and every page of the passport?

Thanks in advance.

Yr DOB original certificate is okay. No harm in sending yr wife’s doc.
Marriage certificate in original. Show them only when asked.

2. Shud I attach tax return papers(i.e form 1040) or only ....
To be on safer side. send the full set.

3. Do we need to notarize photo copies of passport and other certificates we are sending? If yes, How do we .....

Just go to a notary with original passport, copy of the passport and photo ID.
He/she will give a certificate for passport.
They have standard format /procedure for passports.

He will stamp the first page of the passport copy and give u the certificate,
Send the original certificate from Notary along with passport copy with yr documents.

Thanks for your reply,

I have on more Q,
I'm going to apply 485 and EAD for my wife in next week, which is earliar than my in laws interview, so, should I fill 9, 10(have u previously submit any affidavit of supports and visa pitition) points of I-134 form, what date should I mention, the applying date of 485 or receipt date of 485 or the date which I wrote on my wife's affidavit of support for 485.

no need to notarize any copies except affidavit of support......! its waist of money it cost you 3 dollars for each copy .
