Hi,

My parents received the visa on Dec 28th, they are anxious to come here.
Following Questions were asked during interview:

1. Why are you visiting USA?
2. In which company your son-in law works?
3. For how many months you will be visiting?
4. Why are you visiting for 6 month?
5. What is you annual income?
6. Is your daughter pregnant (US)?
7. Is your son and grand son in India?
8. How old is your grand son and what he does?
-----

My question to board:

a) I am trying to buy a ticket but travel agents say I have to buy round trip ticket for visitors. I would like to get one way ticket so that they will not be stuck with same airlines.
Any reasons why should visitors need return ticket as well although they are planning to return in 3 to 6 months? Will it be safe to visit US in one way ticket? How can I avoid buying round trip tickets?

Appreciate your reply,

with regards,
Renuji

If you don't want to buy you dont.
The general trend is buying roundtrip gets you better deals, also many times the officer at POE ask for the return tickets for the visitor via holder and hence people prefer to buy roundtrip ticket.
There are few airlines which can consider cancelling ticket so you can inquire the airline and may cancel the ticket later your choice.
