Visitor visa Query

Hi,
My 2 year old son is in India along with my wifes parents. I am planning to get my son along with my mother-in-law in April.

What does my mother-in-law say if she is asked why she was visiting USA. Does she tell the truth "To leave her grand son in USA" or tell them just for visiting purpose. My son is also going with her to the chennai consulate. Also do we need anything for proof that my mother-in-law is the gaurdian for my son.

Please give me some advise on this.

what is the visa status for your son ? is he aslo applying for the US B2 visa ?
your mother can say the truth with confidence and must carry some written eveidence e.g you may mention this in the letter of invitation to her ..
and also in the letter of visa request to consulate..
