Hi,
I'm new to US and I'm in Durham, NC now.
Last week I went for driving written test,cleared the test and got Learner's Permit (Of course I've SSN and other documents).
Now I've to Road Driving Test.
But I was informed that in order to take the road test I've to have Proof of Insurance.
I remember some of my friends had got the lincese without insurance and went for insurance only after they got the license and bought a car.
So I'm not sure whether I'm in right direction or mis led here.
Must I've to have insurance to obtain license.
Also DMV office was suggesting that I can get a Liability / Non-owner's insurance from some of the insurance companies such as Gieco, Progressive which will not have vehicle number in this kind of policy and policy can be changed once I buy a car.
If anyone have any idea abt this pls shed some light.
