Can we change employer after I-140

Once I-140 approved and 3 yrs H1b extended , can we change the employer and get I-485 get applied by new employer.

Thing is I do not want to start again the two step process ( labor, I-140 ) from new employer. So, what can be done in this situation. Thanks

From Simran's response to my post (just the one before yours) what I understood is that only way to not hamper GC processing and switch employer is to wait for 6 months after applying I-485. Any time before that if employer is changed, the process has to start from beginning. But your priority date (the date on which I-140 is applied) remains same though (what I learned from other posts).
