Hello,
I am an Indian citizen and my first visa stamp was from India, my visa expired and I got the approval again, now I need to stamp my new visa. I have to travel to France for tourism and I was wondering if I can get my visa stamped at Paris (rather than making a separate trip to Canada/Mexico/India).
I am concerned that they can ask me to go back to my home country (India) and get the processing done from there, which would be not a very good situation to be in....
Any one else who got their H1B stamped in Paris recently? Any experience?
Thanks.

If you are working with the same company from porevious H-1b stamping then there won't be any problem as you have visa stamping of the same employer in your passport.
If it is a transfer of H-1b then it is alwyas best to go to your home country for visa stamping.

Oh, I completely forgot that I got my H1B from another company (employer A), but I never worked for that company. I got the stamping using I797 of employer A, then my current employer (employer B) got my visa transferred and I came to US - with employer B I797 and employer A visa stamp.
Overall, my stamp is from my previous employer with who I never worked.
So does this mean that it is not advisable to try for stamping in Paris?
Thanks

In that case it is safer to go to your home country for visa stamping.

Thanks!
What about Canada or Mexico? Is that any better for stamping compared to Paris in my situation or is it the same risk?
Thanks
