Dear all,
In March 2008, my parents got 10 years multiple entry Visitor visa in Chennai. They were asked to reappear for the Fingerprinting immediately and visa was cancelled (221g).

Again, in April we applied for their visa, and no luck.

I want to apply for their Visa again, but just wanted to know what kind of improvement are the VO's looking at. My father is a simple state govt employee with 3 years more service. They donot have properties/bank balances to show. Although I showed a good amt of bank balance to support them in USA.

What exactly is the VO's criteria to look at the case to grant the visa and what kind of improvement in the case/documentation is required from the last application to convince them that my parents are not potential immigrants?

Pls advise.

Thanks

It is unclear on what basis your parent's visa was revoked. The major reasons for visa cancellations will be unable to show enough ties (family and financial) to come back and your ability to sponsor them. Check and apply again.

When my parents went for finger printing, they conducted the visa interview all over again by a indian VO.....and she cancelled the visa based on not enough family ties to come back.

Well, now how to proove the enough family ties.....what is the criteria they look at?

How can i convince that they will be going back to india with in the given time?

there are some more such cases reported in this forums some times back.
Most likely the information inconsistency(document submitted vs oral interview answers) lead to such issues. You can better analyze the situation by asking your parents about the whole process, what was asked and what they answered and what kind of supporting document they submitted.
If you indeed know that it is 221g then it is not a permanent denial,

What to do next :
- communicate with consulate and ask what else they need from your parents.
(Fax or email) must provide a cover letter with reference to name of parents etc.
If you hear back from them that's fine do the needful
Else apply again with better preparation.
